STA-BO Performance
An independent testing facility conducted a study of products aimed at reducing rear-wheel wobble.
The goal was to reduce real-wheel wobble by 10-15% (15% being the maximum amount possible).
STA-BO yielded a reduction of 10.82%.
Only one other provider came close (reduction of 6.18%). They are now out of business. All others were less than 1.71%.

STA-BO Compatibility
The STA-BO is available in three different versions depending on your bike’s model and frame type.
Frequently Asked Questions
STA-BO is made from Delrin and Urethane and not metal by design.
Though it may look like inexpensive plastic you can be completely assured it is not.
Delrin® is a self lubricating, high-grade composite made by DuPont® with excellent mechanical and thermal attributes. (For detailed specs see our Support page).
Urethane is a very rider-friendly material that provides excellent dampening. Vibrations caused by unbalanced OE crank shafts found on late models require such a material. Urethans also works great on early models.
Machined steel is too rigid and would result in a rougher ride.
Bike Model | Frame Type | Product |
---|---|---|
1986-2001 | FLT, FLHT, FLHR, FXR | STA-BO I |
2002-2008 | FLT, FLHT, FLHX, FLHR | STA-BO II |
Pre-2001 w/ 2002 & newer swing arm* | FLT, FLHT, FLHR, FLHX | STA-BO III |
*STA-BO III is only for frames that are 2001 or older with a swing arm that’s 2002 or newer.
The spherical bearings found on models from 2002 to present last approximately 45,000 miles. If your bike is close (or over) 45,000 miles we recommend adding the ED 16 with your STA-BO II order.
If you have a late model (2002 – Present) and want to check the condition of your bearings, just follow these three simple steps.
- Elevate your motorcycle high enough to get the rear wheel off the ground.
- From the left hand side of your motorcycle, move the swing arm back and forth.
- If the swing arm moves independently of the assembly then new swing arm bearings are highly recommended.
